I read a really great article over my lunch hour, not about WHAT to eat to lose weight, but rather, HOW to eat to lose weight. And really - for me this time around, it's not about losing as much weight as I can as fast as I can, it's about learning how to eat. I keep thinking I've finally tackled my issues, but as I've found out, I haven't even scratched the surface. As soon as I am out of my comfort zone, and presented with yummy notsohealthy foods, I devour everything (seconds, please!) and gain millions of pounds. I really have to get to the root of my problem and learn how to eat. Because really, I know what to eat, how much to eat and all of that but I have to learn to eat properly, how to assess my hunger (I am really going to try to tune into my hunger meter), and basically how to eat like a skinny person. Maybe then I'll finally start to solve my "diet" problems.
Enough rambling, here is the article.
Have you heard of the Beck Diet Solution?
ReplyDeleteI am reading it right now and it really helps a lot. I found that this time, getting back to goal is different for me and I really needed to learn the tools necessary to keep the weight off for good.
It is a lot of cognitive behavioural work, and makes SO much sense.
Oh, and it isn't a specific eating plan, just a way to learn how to eat properly.

Oh! I haven't heard of it, but it sounds exactly what I am looking for. I do have a gift certificate at Chapters... thank you!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you went to Guelph! That's awesome! I'm actually in South residence, Prairie Hall. I have a friend in Lambton though! :) I'm in a single brick room, which will be REALLY nice lol.
