This is how you do it

I had one plate filled with corn, salad, lentils, veggie lasagna (better than any meat lasagna I've had in my life, and I have Italian relatives...). I had one small plate with a sliver of keylime pie, apple pie and brownies del luche. I took the smallest pieces and it probably all together totalled one dessert. Did I feel guilty? Not at all. This is a way of life, and I'm not always going to say no to dessert. But I had my piece(s), put my plate away and didn't feel like I needed more. Big success in my book!

We just finished a super steak dinner (with salad, and sauteed mushrooms and onions), and I only took half of the steak (it was a small steak too) on my plate, and it was totally enough. I normally eat a whole one, but without it being on my plate, I didn't even miss it. So I packed the other half for much tomorrow and made a delicious tomato/cucumber/onion/feta salad.

Again, I don't want to sound repetitive, but it's amazing what eating well can do for my overall well being! I haven't yet exercised (well, Carson and I walked to the grocery store today) but plan on starting next week, I just wanted to get the eating under control before I took on that.
