Calling all readers....

My girlfriends and I went out for dinner tonight and I wasn't even worried about how many points my meal was. Of course I was skimming the menu for the best choice, but instead of feeling like "Oh god, I can't order anything fun...." I was more thinking "What will I enjoy most?" and in the end I chose the taco salad. I didn't allot any points to tonight, I just figured I'd count the damage afterwards and go from there. The past (12) weeks I've just been really sticking to the plan, but without even really trying. I'm just working it like a mathematical equation. I ate this many points today already, so this is how many I have left. What can I do with what I have left? But I've never really felt like I'm restricting myself, or holding back. I've just been making the best choices possible and been really satisfied in doing so. Tonight was exactly the same.

Anyhoooo enough babbling. Tonight I had a raspberry margarita (6oz and can we say YUM?) and a taco salad. But I didn't use any dressing on the salad (they gave like a fricking side salad bowl FULL of dressing!) and the salad had grilled chicken, lettuce, beans, guacomole, cheese and tomatoes. I had about 4 chips with salsa too. So what would you say the points are? I'm kind of thinking 8 for the margarita, 12 for the salad (who knows what they put in the guac and beans and cheese are a few points) and 2 for the chips and salsa? Would YOU think that 22 points is good enough?

AND I was talking about bootcamp with one of the girls and she works at Health Canada and said she sees them at lunch hour (the same guy who runs the bootcamp that I joined runs one at Health Canada and it's free for HC employees!) and she said she'd join with me when I got back to work. YAY!

I'd say you are pretty good with the pts. I would go with 22. Sounds like you had a great time!

I think 22 would be save. If you want to get anal (like I always do) about we can dissect it.
According to eTools a reg. margarita is 7.5pts for 6oz so your 8 sounds right since it was flavored.
12 tortilla chips is 3pts so 2 is definitely giving yourself a buffer. I'd say 1 pt.
The salad is the toughy. I usually guesstimate 1 oz of cheese which is 2pts. A quarter C of guas is 2pts and beans are 1 or 2 depending upon the kind. I think you could actually get away with 8 for the salad so 17 total, but that's just me. Either way it sounds like you had a great time and made a great choice that you could enjoy :)

I just found out though, I have to be away at a conference the entire last week of October... :(

I'll be able to make the Monday, as I fly out later in the day... but not the rest. I'm going to email the dude to see if I can just go the entire next week.
