8:30 Saturday morning

And I'm dressed and ready for a run! Then I have lots of running around to do to get ready for tomorrow Thanksgiving dinner. Scale is definitely my friend today, but I've been rocking it all week so it's deserved.

I know I keep saying it, but I'm loving my oatmeal so much that I can't wait to get back from my run to make it.

Brrrr

I had to wear half my winter-running gear this morning! I headed out at 5:30 till about 6:30, completing just over 7K. I only took two 1-minute walking breaks. The mornings certainly are brisk these days.

Last night I had two hard boiled eggs with some tomatoes, onions on top of a bed of lettuce. While catchin up on some TV I was feeling snack, but had a cup of green tea instead of eating anything.

I'm eating some oatmeal (I'm getting sooo good at this and I actually look forward to the mornings just so I can eat oatmeal!), drinking some tea while Carson runs around like a mad man. I like mornings like this, where I'm not rushed to get out of the house. I have a conference today and tomorrow and I only have to be there at 9. Working 6 hours a day would be perfect!

I'm going down down down...

The scale keeps going down which is wonderful. I, unfortunately, haven't been able to run this week after Monday's lunge fiasco. Maybe too much too soon? I'm just able to walk normally again today. Lisa and I went for a 50 minute walk last night, better than being sedentary.

I need to pick up the Beck solution again. I keep waiting for life to calm down, but that's not going to happen anytime soon so I really have to figure out a way to fit it into my schedule (hey, that's one of the daily lessons, finding time for diet and exercise). Anyways, things are up and down right now so I suppose I should pat myself on the back for losing weight and fitting in whatever exercise I can.

Hey! This morning I added MILK to my oatmeal (never done it before) and oh my goodness was it ever good. I just found a way to fit in 1/2 cup of milk into my day.

Paying for it now!

Evil scale. Evil Evil Evil scale! Why is that the more fun my weekend is, a higher number shows on the scale? I'm working on changing that.

Anyways, I've moved on.

I had yummy oatmeal (Organic quick oats, made with water), banana, almond butter and flax seed. Warmed me up and tasted oh so good.

Lunch is chili (we make a batch every couple weeks and freeze it in lunch sized tupperware), carrots and cucumbers.

Haven't decided on supper yet, I was home for maybe an hour this weekend (wake-time hours that is) so needless to say I didn't plan my meals or do a grocery shopping (that's on the TO DO for tonight). And, a walk with Lisa and Jenn (Jenn is who's cottage I want to this weekend and asked her if she wanted to start walking and she said yes!). Look at me, making friends!

That always makes me laugh. Anyways. Oats. Last fall/winter/spring I LIVED on oats. At that point I was quite unimaginative and only ate these Now that the cool weather is back, I am reprising my favourite warm breakfast. But, I want ideas. I read lots of blogs where people eat oatmeal every day. They put soy milk, hemp milk, bananas, almond butter, granola... all the things I love, in one bowl. And it looks good.

If you could all let me know what kind of oatmeal you buy and a quick how-to if you have special ways of preparing it, that would be great. I'm sure I could go into the archives where people explained how they do it but I'll try the lazy way first (asking) then if that doesn't pan out, I'll look into it more.

And not to sound unwelcoming to any passer-byers from the States, but some of the products you buy, I can't get here. And when it sounds super good, I just get jealous and frusterated that we can't get it here. So I'm looking at my Canadian friends for this one.
